SaskEnergy Incorporated and its subsidiary, TransGas Limited, distribute and transport natural gas to over 336,000 Saskatchewan residential, farm, commercial and industrial customers. To help meet our objectives, we are seeking a results-oriented and technically-competent individual for the position of:


Manager, Plant and Financial Accounting (Term Position)


TransGas is seeking an experienced professional with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Reporting to the Director, Utilities Accounting, the Manager, Plant and Financial Accounting is responsible for the financial records and the preparation of financial statements. This includes maintenance of the chart of accounts and the general ledger, subsidiary records for capital assets, construction work in progress and customer capital contributions. A major challenge of this position includes providing account expertise and value-added decision-making support to corporate divisions/departments, preparation of accounting procedures and assistance in development of accounting policies. This position is responsible for the supervision and development of staff.


Qualifications are as follows:

  • University Degree in Business Administration or Commerce with a Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CGA) supplemented with four (4) to six (6) years accounting experience. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, coach and advise employees in maintaining a co-operative work environment.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with proven ability in handling multiple tasks by establishing priorities, being innovative, detailed and flexible in a volatile and changing work environment.
  • Proven ability to provide quality results in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to provide innovative and flexible leadership in organization and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and recommend and implement business solutions.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and judgement skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and group communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including use of word processing, spreadsheets and databases applications.
