HIGHEST DAILY
TRANSPORTATION IN 12 YEARS
Last week’s extreme temperatures, together with
large export deliveries, combined to create the highest daily
transportation volumes for TransGas in more than a decade.
On February 16, 2006, TransGas recorded transport volumes of 1.53 PJ,
which included both Saskatchewan load and export deliveries. This is
the second highest level in company history, just slightly below the
all-time TransGas transport peak of 1.54 PJ set on February 6, 1994.
The total Saskatchewan deliveries on February 16, 2006 of 0.97 PJ
were 87% of the all-time Saskatchewan load peak of 1.12 PJ that
occurred on January 27, 2004. The TransGas export deliveries on
February 16, 2006 were 560 TJ/d, which is the highest peak day
export in 11 years.
“Operationally, the TransGas system performed well during the most
significant test of the TransGas system in the past two years,’ said
Daryl Posehn, Senior Vice President, TransGas. “The system is
designed to respond to even higher peak demands, so additional
capacity remains to serve even greater customer needs.”
