Safety Corridor Guidelines
     
You must obtain permission to perform work over, near or across TransGas natural gas transmission pipelines.

Quick Reference Chart:

When a Permit is Required:

Within 10m Meter Safety Corridor

All Activities (including all Encroachments, Seismic, Drilling Wells, and Residential Dwellings)
A TransGas Representative must witness the work

Within 30m Encroachment Permitting Area

All Activities (Ground Disturbance with 30m)
Example:

  • Hunting Pit - Burying a Rock Pile - Fence
  • Pipe Replacement - Test Hole Drilling - Foundations
  • Buildings - Dugouts - Poles/Posts (for signage)
  • Installation, Maintenance or Removal of Pipelines, Power Lines, Cables, Power Poles, and Roads or Ditches that Parallel or Cross a TransGas Pipeline
  • V-Ditching

Within 40m Seismic Permitting Area

**40m from edge of R.O.W. for MIPL(C) Lines
All Seismic Activity

Within 75m Well Drilling Permitting Area

Well Drilling (includes oil, gas, water, piezometers, and bore holes)

Within 200m Residential Dwelling Monitoring Area

(No Permit Issued)
