A. Gas Control
Gas Control operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365
days per year. Gas control continuously monitors the pipeline system
operation. A sophisticated computer system called Supervisory
Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) links field devices to the Gas
Control operators.
The Gas Control SCADA system allows trained specialists to
monitor and remotely control devices, valves, and equipment across
the entire system. This may include starting or stopping
compressor stations,
adjusting gas pressure or volumes, and
injecting or
producing from gas
storage facilities.
B. Maximum Operating Pressure
For every pipeline, there is a maximum operating pressure (MOP).
Gas Control and our Operations staff carefully monitor these
pressures to ensure that this maximum is not exceeded.
