Receipt Transportation – Long Term Firm 

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported to the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas’ transmission facilities, with a Contract Term of one (1) year or longer.  Available to all receipt Shippers on the TransGas Gas Transmission System. 

Billing Demand: The billing demand will be the Contract Demand. 

Rate Code:  R-11.0  - Basic Transportation 

Demand Charge per GJ of billing demand each month: $6.9118

For long term Firm receipts originating at NIT an Additional Cost Recovery will be charged along with the R-11.0 Demand Charge.  See the level of Additional Cost Recovery in effect. 

Minimum Bill: The Demand Charge plus any additional costs incurred. 

Any taxes, levies or surcharges which may lawfully be imposed by or at the request of any municipal, provincial or federal authority will be charged to the Customer as required. 

Receipt Transportation – Short Term Firm 

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported to the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas’ transmission facilities, with a Contract Term of less than one (1) year.  Available to all receipt Shippers on the TransGas Gas Transmission System. 

Billing Demand: The billing demand will be the Contract Demand.  

Rate Code: R-11.1 - Basic Transportation 

Demand Charge per GJ of billing demand each month: $7.6030

For short term Firm receipts originating at NIT an Additional Cost Recovery will be charged along with the R-11.1 Demand Charge.  See the level of Additional Cost Recovery in effect.

Rate Code: R-19.0 - Basic Transportation 

Commodity Charge per GJ: $0.3030

For Interruptible receipts originating at NIT an Additional Cost Recovery will be charged along with the R-19.0 commodity charge.  See the level of Additional Cost Recovery in effect.

Receipt Transportation – High Priority Interruptible 

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported to the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas transmission facilities on a high priority Interruptible basis.  Available to all receipt Shippers on the TransGas Gas Transmission System, who have applied for and are waiting for Firm Receipt Service.

For high priority Interruptible receipts originating at NIT an Additional Cost Recovery will be charged along with the R-90.0 Commodity Charge.  See the level of Additional Cost Recovery in effect.

Billing Demand: The billing demand will be the Contract Demand.

This rate is not applicable to any subsequent renewals of such Contract Demand. 

Billing Demand: The billing demand will be the Contract Demand.

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported from the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas Limited's transmission facilities, and whose Contract Demand was transferred from L11 Basic Service to export.  Subject to the General Business Policies II G 6.4. 

This rate is not applicable to any subsequent renewals of such Contract Demand.

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported from the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas Limited's transmission facilities, and whose Contract Demand was transferred from D21 Basic Service to export.  Subject to the General Business Policies II G 6.4. 

This rate is not applicable to any subsequent renewals of such Contract Demand.

Delivery Transportation – Commercial Firm 

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported from the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas Limited's transmission facilities.  Available to current Commercial Firm Customers moving in excess of 370 GJ’s but less than 26,100 GJ’s per year. 

Rate Code: D-51.0 - Basic Transportation 

Basic Monthly Charge: $343.19

Commodity Charge per GJ: $1.7549

Minimum Bill:    Basic Monthly Charge plus any additional costs incurred.

Applicability: To the movement of natural gas, owned by a second party, and transported from the TransGas Energy Pool through TransGas Limited's transmission facilities on an Interruptible basis.  Available to current D-59.0 Customers and prospective buyback service Customers moving less than 48,600 GJ’s per year.

Minimum Bill: Additional costs incurred.

D. Storage Rates

Storage Service – Summer Use Firm and Interruptible 

Applicability: To natural gas in storage on the TransGas Limited System during the storage year which extends from May 01 of one year to April 30 of the following year, for which the gas in storage is accessible for redelivery during the summer period only.  This rate is available to all Customers for whom there is storage capacity available. 

Summer Period: April 01 to October 31 inclusive. 

Contracted Rate of Withdrawal: The maximum rate at which TransGas is obligated to redeliver gas to a Customer on any day, during the summer period only.  (Firm service Contracted Rate of Withdrawal is 0.000 GJ/d for non-summer period).  The Contracted Rate of Withdrawal for Interruptible summer use storage is 0.000 GJ/d. 

Contracted Capacity: The cumulative net amount of gas, which a Customer has the right to deliver for storage. 

Excess Withdrawal: The amount of gas TransGas redelivered to a Customer, on a reasonable efforts basis, during the month, which exceeded the Contracted Rate of Withdrawal on the day of redelivery.  Available during the summer period only.  Interruptible summer use storage utilizes excess withdrawal for redelivery on a reasonable efforts basis. 

Overholding Capacity: An amount of gas which a Customer has in storage in excess of the Contracted Capacity including gas in storage at the end of the storage year for which a new storage contract has not been entered.

Excess Withdrawal: The amount of gas TransGas redelivered to a Customer, on a reasonable efforts basis, during the month, which exceeded the Firm Contracted Rate of Withdrawal on the day of redelivery.  Interruptible storage utilizes excess withdrawal for redelivery, on a reasonable efforts basis. 

Overholding Capacity: An amount of gas which a Customer has in storage in excess of the Contracted Capacity including gas in storage at the end of the storage year for which a new storage contract has not been entered.

E. Service Charges

TransGas Energy Pool Account 

Applicability: To any Customer on the TransGas System who holds an Energy Account within the TransGas Energy Pool. 

Energy Account Charge: Energy Account holders, also holding valid transportation or storage service, will not be subject to an Energy Account Charge or the Monthly Minimum Bill. 

Energy Account Charge:

Monthly Energy Account Charge: $0.00 

Minimum Bill: Any additional costs incurred. 

Any taxes, levies or surcharges which may lawfully be imposed by or at the request of any municipal, provincial or federal authority will be charged to the Customer as required. 

Transportation Elevated Pressure Service 

Applicability: To any Delivery Shipper on the TransGas System requiring a guaranteed delivery pressure above the standard minimum contractual operating pressure for that specific transmission line. 

Elevated Pressure Service: 

Rate: 

  1. If capacity exists, the Shipper will be charged only for incremental annual operating cost related to providing the higher pressure. 
    Annual operating costs may include a cost component for fuel gas.  TransGas will accept the necessary amount of fuel gas, as determined by TransGas, to offset this cost component. 
  2. If capacity is not available or becomes unavailable and the Shipper still requires an Elevated Pressure Service, the Shipper will be charged for the cost of the required specific facilities, as well as, the incremental annual operating costs. 
  3. The incremental annual operating costs will be determined by TransGas and the Shipper will be invoiced based on the monthly equivalent.

Transportation Fuel Gas and Unaccounted for Gas Assessment 

Applicability: To all Receipt Transportation Service on the TransGas System moving Gas from a Point of Receipt to the TransGas Energy Pool. 

Notwithstanding Article 10 of the General Terms and Conditions and A).II.d).2) “Unaccounted for Gas” of the General Business Policies, the calculation of Unaccounted for Gas assessment will be determined by TransGas, prior to the Transport Month.  The Transport Month is defined as the period from the first to the last calendar day of the month inclusive.  TransGas shall determine the actual Unaccounted for Gas that occurred throughout the Transport Month and any difference between the actual Unaccounted for Gas and the recovered Unaccounted for Gas shall be included in the calculation of Unaccounted for Gas assessments over the next successive twelve Transport Months.  TransGas, at its discretion, may include these differences between actual and recovered Unaccounted for Gas in subsequent calculations over shorter periods where it deems it appropriate. 

Notwithstanding Article 10 of the General Terms and Conditions and A).II.d).3) “Fuel Gas” of the General Business Policies, the calculation of the Fuel Gas assessment will be determined by TransGas, prior to the Transport Month.  The Transport Month is defined as the period from the first to the last calendar day of the month inclusive. TransGas shall determine the actual Fuel Gas that occurred throughout the Transport Month and any difference between the actual Fuel Gas and the recovered Fuel Gas shall be included in the calculation of the Fuel Gas assessment for the next Transport Month. 

Fuel Gas percentage is published monthly.

Low Heating Value Surcharge Service 

Applicability: To any holder of a Low Heating Value Surcharge Service Agreement who is the Common Stream Operator of a Point of Receipt on the TransGas system where Customer desires the ability to deliver Gas with a Heating Value below 35.00 MJ’s per Cubic Meter, or to the holder of a Receipt Transportation Agreement, who delivers Gas into the TransGas system, during any period with a Heating Value below 35.00 MJ’s per Cubic Meter and there is not a Firm Low Heating Value Surcharge Service Agreement in place or where there is a Short Term Firm Low Heating Value Surcharge Service Agreement or the Heating Value is below the minimum Heating Value specified in the Firm Low Heating Value Surcharge Service Agreement and TransGas has not provided a pre-authorization to deliver lower Heating Value Gas under that Agreement.  Such Shipper shall be subject to the Unauthorized Low Heating Value Surcharge.
